ラグビーワールドカップ2019™が開催された熊谷では、日本ラグビーの最高峰リーグ「トップリーグ」の試合が今年も開催されます。ワールドカップで活躍した選手が、今度は敵同士となり火花を散らします! 熊谷へラグビーを見に行こう!

ラグビーワールドカップ2019™日本大会の埼玉・熊谷開催の会場にもなり、国内に限らず世界からも多くのラグビーファンが訪れている熊谷ラグビー場。 JR熊谷駅からラグビーの聖地「熊谷ラグビー場」までの『ラグビーロード』を楽しみながら歩く動画が完成し、動画サイトYouTubeで発信中です。

The date has been set for a match between Japan and South Africa at Kumagaya Rugby Stadium!

Japan and South Africa will face each other on Friday, 6 September 2019 at Kumagaya Rugby Stadium. Will this be a repeat of the "greatest upset of all time" that happened at the previous Rugby World Cup?!

Public viewing

The Saitama Prefecture and Kumagaya City held a public viewing of the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2018 that was held in June.

Yurutama Fifteen

This is a rugby cheerleading squad comprising of mascot characters of the various cities of the Saitama Prefecture that volunteered their mascots for the purpose of increasing excitement around rugby. The squad inclues the iconic characters Kobaton and Saitamacchi. The members of the squad wear red-and-white jerseys and conduct adorable PR all over the prefecture.

“Scmum! Kumagaya” will start

The slogan, with rugby as its keyword, which will become the new guiding principle for citizens to come together for the advancement of the “Rugby town Kumagaya” initiative has been decided.

The 27th Saitama Rugby Festival was held on Sunday, June 2.

Other than the main event which was the match between Daito Bunka University and Waseda University (the 8th Kanto spring competition), there were onstage events, a hands-on rugby experience corner, and more, and everyone was able to get excited about rugby together. On the day, about 20,000 people attended the events.

The Panasonic Wild Knights are coming to Kumagaya!

The Panasonic Wild Knights of the Japan Rugby Top League will move their main base to the Kumagaya Rugby Stadium Saitama. On Wednesday, March 27, looking towards the moving of the team’s main base, the city of Kumagaya and Panasonic reached an agreement to work together to promote regional development and other initiatives through rugby. Together, let's get excited about rugby and Kumagaya!

A rugby clinic led by Eddie Jones was held

The former head coach of the Japan national rugby team and current head coach of England Eddie Jones held a rugby clinic for selected high school students from around the prefecture at Kumagaya Rugby Stadium Saitama on Monday, December 24 (a public holiday).

Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2018 Public Viewing in Kumagaya

Public viewing of the Japan vs. New Zealand match of the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2018 which took place on Saturday, November 3 at Ajonomoto Stadium (Tokyo), was held at the community plaza in Kumagaya.
