Event for commemorating the opening of Kumagaya rugby playground

On Saturday, October 20, the event for commemorating the opening of Kumagaya Rugby Stadium was held. 
A game between Panasonic Wild Knights and Canon Eagles was played where 13,849 spectators watched (the second-highest record in Kumagaya Rugby Stadium’s history). Additionally, the ceremony for appointing the host city’s special supporters was held, as well as a Yurutama rugby game between representative mascots of both host cities of Kumagaya, Saitama, and Kamaishi, Iwate.
Moreover, various events were held outside the playground including rugby talk shows, Music performance, and live comedy.

Events inside the playground

  • 14,000 spectators watched the game between Panasonic Wild Knights and Canon Eagles.
  • Ceremony for appointing the host city’s special supporters from Hello! Project’s old and current members
  • Mini live show by Shikuramen in the half-time.
  • Yurutama rugby by Yurutama fifteen and Scrum Iwate Fifteen before the start of the game

Events outside the playground

  • A talk show by the former captain of the Japanese representative team, Andrew McCormick and Erina Dawkins, the host city’s special supporter.
  • Live comedy performance by GANBARERUYA
  • Live comedy performance by Hyokkori-han
