Rugby World Cup 2019 100-days-to-go event was held on Sunday, June 16 at Kanezuka Park in front of Omiya Sonic City. In addition to the ceremony marking 100 days before RWC2019, there were also live stage performances and street rugby. Furthermore, Yurutama Fifteen appeared in the venue and entertained the audience. About 21,000 people attended the event.
Commemorative event for the first public sale of tickets for Rugby World Cup 2019TM Japan Tournament
At COCOON CITY in Saitama-shintoshin, we held an event on Saturday, January 19, 2019 to commemorate the start of selling of tickets for the rugby world cup 2019TM Japan tournament on a first-come-first-served basis. Cocoon Plaza will become a rugby park where rugby can be experienced, while the audience was excited to see the character show of Hugtto! PreCure and the Yurutama fifteen on stage. That day, about 12,000 people filled the venue.
On Saturday, October 20, the event for commemorating the opening of Kumagaya Rugby Stadium was held. A game between Panasonic Wild Knights and Canon Eagles was played where 13,849 spectators watched (the second-highest record in Kumagaya Rugby Stadium’s history). Additionally, the ceremony for appointing the host city’s special supporters was held, as well as a Yurutama rugby game between representative mascots of both host cities of Kumagaya, Saitama, and Kamaishi, Iwate. Moreover, various events were held outside the playground including rugby talk shows, Music performance, and live comedy.
